No More Tubes and IV Pole

Good afternoon everyone! It’s your favorite guest blogger. 🙂 Although I have a feeling my days are numbered. I think Ryan has a blog all ready in his head including a few pictures. Last night he had a good night. He was able to get some sleep and his pain was under control. He’s back to eating and drinking like normal and we spent most of the day yesterday out of his room and either walking around or sitting up in the observatory at the top of the building.

I got to his room about an hour ago and today seems the same. His pain is tolerable, he doesn’t wear his oxygen anymore, and we already took a long walk. In an hour or so they will come and remove his catheter and epidural. After that is removed he will only be taking pills to control his pain. No IV medication will be used. Once they see that he can control his pain with only pills and if his oxygen levels continue like they have been, he’ll get out tomorrow! 🙂 It looks like we may be flying home on Tuesday if everything goes well medically, but when flying standby things can always change.

The boys and I are doing good. Logan slept through the night again last night. The other cuddly little guy slept on my chest most of the night. He seemed to really miss me yesterday and needed to be close. After Logan naps this morning, the boys will come over to see Ryan. While I definitely don’t want to stay her longer, I will really miss this weather. The sunshine everyday is so amazing and the temperatures have been around 60-70 degrees. I’m wearing flip flops today! I wish I could bring this weather back to Michigan!

I will try and write again tomorrow to let you know how the discharge went. Thank you for keeping up with Ryan’s progress and all the thoughts and prayers! 🙂

All tubes out will make your day Ryan! That is awesome. I hope that your pain is bearable without the epidural. It has to come out sometime. I am so glad that you all may get to go home early this week. No place like home and your own bed. I know that you will continue to do what your body tells you once your are discharged. Take it easy, regain that strength and press on.

YAY!!.. I’m so happy to hear this great news!! Our prayers have been answered… I prayed that God kept one hand on the surgeon so all was done correctly and all the cancer was removed and I prayed God kept the other on Ryan to help him recover without complication … since the surgery I have been praying for no reoccurance and for this cancer to be a thing of the past…I KNOW God will hear that prayer too…I am in awe right now…. AMEN!
